View Full Version : CNN tonight- HBO preview
Did anyone catch it on the Paula Zahn show?
I only caught the end of it with their in-house "doctor/commentator" talking about intersex as an identity. I was getting ready to leave work so I couldn't pay that much attention as I was doing the handoff and had no clue it was going to be on so I couldn't really interrupt what I was doing. I saw the very end of the HBO preview segment with Max Beck and then my eyes glossed over as the doctor/commentator was talking while I was getting my other stuff done so I could leave.

Dear Betsy,
Didn't see the show but I guess there are people with intersex medical conditions that would have an intersex identity ...er what ever that is but I know people with no intersex condition that would also act as I would guess an intersex identity would be.
I would think the word intergendered would make more sense and why no mention of the word pangendered? The only thing that was intersex was my external genitals via the hapless adrenal gland- surgery before period blood flow was needed.
I stopped watching those types of shows along time ago after watching a rerun of Trapper John M.D. that did is it a Boy? Girl? crap.
"Like the nurse said you don't look intersexed."
Hello all fisrt i am very new here. I am not a intersex person.
I had a dear sweet lady who was intersex more female then male. We were college friends who turned to the best of friends, then lovers.
She was the best person that anyone could be, the best friend, shoulder to cry on, on just have a beer with.
I know what she went thru and i felt some of the dis trust to narrow minded people.
She was like many attacked and not killed but in stead took her own life.
that was in the early 80's.
I since then I have found a trans gender who went thru the full ops. and very good a dear friend,
but she if a good friend and we go out and have a few drinks now and then.
But it not the same,
I have tried those dam dating sites and still I feel empty.
OH sorry the show.
It was not in the best of detail I thought it gave enough info,to someone who know very little about TG's. and enough knowledge to be stupid.
thanks
mike
God Bless
I think that I am beginning to believe in serendipity. These things cannot be scripted.

The primary focus of the show seemed to be about transexual people.
Three points I took from the show include:
1. Transgender and intersexual conditions have a biological basis.
2. "Middle sex" is international.
3. Acceptance is not complete--even in the most "tolerant" cultures.
They overviewed a couple of case studies, and addressed TS in different cultures.
To sum it up---it was anticlimactic.
I've been told the same thing...both here and elsewhere. I think Peter, btw, was referring to this post I made (http://www.bodieslikeours.org/forums/showpost.php?p=9585&postcount=2).
It's one of those times I am happy to not have participated. Something in my gut told me it was not going to be that great. I look forward to receiving a copy of it.
As someone who has had a career in the television business, I seem to have a good feeling for that stuff.
