What are all of your favorite ways to while away whatever free time you might have?

A nice fantasy/mythology based novel usually makes me feel better. i like a story were the hero/heroine is triumphant over the bad guys, men/monsters/ the sinister sorceress/the evil wizard.

it gives me a sense of hope. The real world is not so kind, in a book i feel happy, content, hope, and wonderment.

And unlike watchinga tv or movie i can usually get a good read in in one to two nights. 8-12 hours of reading

Yes, I agree Kaila. A good book can be much easier on the soul than tv is.

Turned on the television for a little bit tonight, and what was there anyways? I watched Jeff Goldblume become the Fly, and wondered if I could comprehend being taken over by foreign dna. It's hard to imagine, but maybe I can empathize with the pain of being 2 dna's in one. Or maybe not.

Then there was an ad for a movie called "Crank", and the plotline has a tiny bit in common with CAH, someone having their adrenal receptors poisoned.

I haven't had much free time since I came back to skating last winter but there is no doubt that my favorite way to pass a few minutes and to recharge my soul is to sit out on my back step with my dog and cuddle with her. I live in a rural area - fields, trees, grass swaying in the breeze, and a wide open sky. Sitting on my back step, watching an eagle circle overhead or a finch foraging for seeds in the grass, or even just watching a spider spin its web reconnects me with Mother Earth and reminds me that we are all part of this "Grand Scheme" and that we are all brothers and sisters with all of creation.

Of all the creatures in creation, it is only the human being who can be intentionally cruel and so pompus as to think he is more important than everything else. Sitting on my back step reminds me to walk softly and be a sister to all.

>>>> Amen. I've got a view of five mountains from my front porch and i love watching a pair of peregrins ride the thermals. I watch the sunrise daily because it would be a sin to miss the spectacular re-enactment of genesis i get to witness......

"and God separated the firmament from the earth (the mist rising from the bog as the sun warms it) and called it heaven"

Its so breath-taking, i am moved to tears of Joy everytime (yeahhh Godde!) i long to share it even with total strangers.

Eureka! i think i'll get a web cam so everyone can see!!!
