Hello all...I posted about this a couple years ago but am still looking
I ;ove om amm Arbor where I'm very out as intersex and do a lot of speaking and activisdm on IS issues....but I am the onlu one I know anywhere near me who is *openly* intersex. Seens Ann Arbor may be ISNA's former headquarters, but also seems like their leaving the area has left somewhat of a hole for visibility and such. I *eally& would love to meet other intersex people in Michigan, and would love to meet some who are out as IS--thanks, Cynthya/BrianKate

I am very happy to see you again. It is good to know that you are out representing/presenting in your area. My apologies as i am not from Michigan.

I have spoken in a few Gender studies classes at our local community college, and am open about being intersexed locally. I tend to think it is better, and raises awareness within our communities. It also shows a side of our lives that people don't often get to see. What many people think is pretty much based on there own experiences. For us, in general, i think most of the medical community pretty much uses very old outdated and incorrect treatment standards for us. I think speaking out,, and letting people know a personal history, makes our acceptance that much closer to being accepted.
that doesnt sound right, haha. Anyways, I hope you get some replys from local IS. Its nice to have someone to actually talk too in person who actually understands what you are/have gone through.

Best Wishes
