OK, I see a lot of people on here who have seen endocrinologists to have their intersex conditions diagnosed. This makes me a little concerned about my own situation.
See, my primary doctor – the one who missed my Swyer’s for 10 years, IS an endocrinologist. I have him as my PCP because of my Type 1 diabetes. My intersex condition was spotted by a small-town gynecologist I happened to see in a rural ER when I started having pain (I thhought it was a UTI) on vacation.
So I’m hoping you folks can help me get some perspective on this. He’s taken great care of my diabetes and other conditions. But now I can’t stop wondering, should he have been the one to catch this? Did he suspect, and just not say anything? I’ve been chicken about asking him, because I’d hate it if it affected our doctor/patient relationship. Any thoughts?
