For privacy reasons, I am not accepting user IDs, which contain personal email addresses, or personal phone numbers. You can use your own name if you want, which is something I do not recommend, but contact information should only be given out to other forum members through PMs (Private Messages).

Yes, you can leave your email address in your profile. As a moderator, I am still thinking this through, but a new user just used their private emal address as her user ID, and that made me very uncomfortable, given past problems with new users having regrets about revealing information that can be used to publically find them before thinking it over. You have been here for years, so I know that you have had plenty of time to think over putting your email address in your profile.
