hey to all,

Would you allow in-laws to stay in your house for a couple of years while they are studying?

Actually it is fine with me but I have a second thought because of privacy and additional expenses but they don't have a place to go if I will not allow them. They are less fortunate when it comes to finances.

if you know them, and trust them then i don't there being a problem. Now If you don't know them, and don't trust them, and they do not understand that this is your house then don't offer them a place to stay.

Privacy issue's are important. If your being asked by another family member your spouse to let them stay then your spouse had better understand that decision was thier's and not your own.

I do think family is important but do not let yourself be used just because they are family. If they are a student, then they had best be a working student and they should be expected to fork over some doe, ie money to compensate any losses to you.

whether they are financially able to pay for all of thier adding expenses is something you need to talk about before offering your home to them.

again this in my opinion is an unusual post/question to ask about right off the bat, but if it is what you are wondering about well here is an answer from me at least.

Or you could be a sponge and let people use you as a sponge if your ok with being a sponge.
