the only difference really is the degree to which a person is able to recognize Testosterone.
Complete AIS means you basically ignore the fact that you have any Testosterone at all.
Partial, will cause varying phenotypes based on how well a person can recognise and use Testosterone.
basicaly it is where they will use the scale the 1-5; 1 nearly male phenotype, 2 close to male some feminization, 3 sort of mix phenotype inbetween male and female, 4 phenotype more female with some male characteristics, and 5 nearly female but not quite.
1,2 usually raised male 3 are the iffy ones that are totally up in the air, some raised male some female, 4closer to female usually raised as girls but not always and 5 almost always raised female.
AIS is just the general category Androgen Incensitivity Syndrome, and anyone with could be anywhere along the spectrum
you used to see MAIS Mild Androgen Incensitivity Syndrome along with the Partial and Complete. though the number system seems to have replaced its use. Like Mild, would be a grade 1 PAIS now.
hope that helps.
