I’m a hermaphrodite. I was switched to male at birth, simply said was wrong. My dr never would tell me if true. My reason I think this is at puberty I started a period and my tits grew. My PCP in Tulsa in Oklahoma said I was preop but could not explain the anomalies or why I looked like a girl and have no Adams apple or prostate. I also have a scar behind the scrotome that is orgasmic if it is rubbed. When I first met her she thought I was female to male. I now live in central Pennsylvania. With new PCP. I been living as a woman since 18 & changed my name and stared hormones at 25. I am now 30. I’m also incontinent and in a wheel chair. I only want the surgery so I feel better about knowing who I am and proof to myself. Are you able to help me??? Ty for any help in advance.

Hi Alice. I'm always just curious. If you are a hermaphrodite (are there hermaphrodites?) and you were menstruating on your own, what kind of hormones are you taking (need to take) in order to live as a woman?

Anne Coulter appears to have an adam's apple. If I could help cure you of needing a wheelchair, I would.

Hello Alice,

Welcome to Bodies Like Ours!

It's not clear to me from your post what sort of help you are asking for. However, I will respond on the topic of incontinence, because it's something I know about. I have recently become fully continent after varying degrees of incontinence for 13 years, by having a new artificial urinary sphincter fitted. I had one that was too loose to keep me fully continent for 12 years, then it broke, and after a wait of a bit over a year, I got a new one that seems to be working perfectly. My incontinence problem is caused by bladder and muscular deformities that I suspect are related to my genital abnormalities.

I was wondering, do you have a diagnosis for the cause of your incontinence, and have any attempts been made to fix it? Do you have any cluse as to what sort of intersex condition you have?

hugs,
Caroline
