Hi
I just found this website while surfing randomly. I am not good at introductions but I shall give it a go.
My name is Sara, I am 19 from somewhere in the UK. Apologies about being vague however obviously millions of people will have access to whatever I post!
I was diagnosed CAIS when 16. Well the endocrinologist's words were 'you do ever so slightly respond to androgens but for all intents and purposes, you have CAIS'. I actually diagnosed myself with this when I was 15 and hadn't started my period. As soon as I read the symptoms I had a little sniffle as I knew it fitted. I went to the doctors who confirmed abnormally high testosterone and referred to the hospital who confirmed XY karyotype and I am surprised to say I was relieved.
I saw a post earlier where someone said CAIS have an ideal situation, no menses, no excessive hair etc and I can honestly say I agree. Obviously it isn't the best that I can't have children but that is not the biggest problem. Besides, what's the point in fretting over something that you can't change?
Didn't mean to go on so much so will end my rant.
Look forward to conversing,
Sara:)
