Hiy people, happy Sunday. This is kind of relate with "they are watching" or "GLBT thread". I have never wake up and feel sooo happy like today. Ohh, well, I was reading the "body like,," and "Intersex awareness,," lietrally all night long.

I am so relived and feel becoming I am part of the comminity after I read people on the forum express the fear, concern, and anxieties.

In the past, ohh well, I was involved with AA(alcohol) and OA(over eaters) groups last 10 years. Sometimes people have great emotional pain, isolation, anxiety, and fear. Mostly, people with Alcohol and Over eaters(anorexic and bulimic) tried to relive the emotional pain, isolation, fear, or axeiety by the alcohol, drug and foods. I am still working with my eating(bulimic) issue.

Now a day, I like to involve IS activities like "Intersex awareness day", but I may be not the person who holding the banner on the street. I think I am quite shy and coy.

Anyway, I feel there should have large numbers of IS people around, however, there are few people speak up in the public or the society in contrast with other people with concern or support groups.

I am not generalized IS people, but I feel IS people are tend to be our personality introvert. So, I think not many people with IS conditions go to the public to express/demanding our interests. We(our comminity) might need some sort of lobbiests. I am not saying IS people are wimp but we are very sensitive and intricate(right word?) people. Perhaps IS activitiy groups might need some help or support from other organizations like GLBT, ACLU, or other political or supportive groups BUT maintaining our autonomy.

Guss what, I am from Japan. So excuse me my grammatical error.

ciao

Hello and welcome to Bodies like Ours.
It is good you have found a place to be, so ......congratulations:)

quote: "I am still working with my eating(bulimic) issue."

Well, at least eat some healthy food, please. Hopefully not McDonald's hamburgers:rolleyes: I have heard that Japanese green tea, especially what is called Ocha is healthy to drink and may (?) lessen craving for food. Maybe by finding this web forum, it will help, also. Take care. :)

Hi and welcome , I do get very much online time because of working too much.
I wanted to say Hi,

Organizations are good but I think an IS Creature feature must be one of its own and not what others think what an IS should be , hell we are fighting Society with our own IS issues now.

It's Thursday moning now. Anyway, I felt someting don't get or slight trickd me was, when I looked at the picture which posted at "intersex-awareness day's one of the picture from the Photo album, (Intersex Activism: Inportant Events) the picture called "Hermaphrodites with attitude 1996 action"

http://www.intersex-awareness-day.org/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=1

There is poeple holding 'Hermaphrdites with Attitude' banner, but are not intersex poeple. According to the note said, "(Note) most of the people photographed are not intersex people; they are our allies from Transexual Menace (you may recognize Riki Ann Wilchins of GenderPAC in the photo)."

Without discription of the photo, most people in the society think that people holding the banner(Hermaphorodites with Attitude) behind are pressumeing the intersex people, but they are not intersex people. I am happy to see many active and assertive groups support IS comminity, yet I felt my feeling becomes unsetteld and slight misrepresented.

hi jaynez,

are you saying that you are a little upset , because there are other people besides intersexed people in the picture?

I don't think anyone was trying to misrepresent us ,,, they were there showing support and giving courage to the intersexed people that did have the guts to go out and hold that banner up proudly.

I agree with you that more intersexed people need to stand up and be heard and seen . but lets not forget that a whole lot of us have spent every day of our lives ,, trying to stay hidden.
When I found out I was not alone ,,,,, I instantly gained a huge amount of courage. But I still have days when I just want to revert and run and hide . and not deal with everything.

Something that might help is , when I am starting to feel not so brave...... I go back to a thread , that got me reved up and I read it again. lol .... it helps :)

have a great day !!!!!!!
