Hi Ryan, Elijah--
I'm Kereth. I'm intergendered, not intersexed (so far as I know). I'm 23 and going to college in Florida. If it's not appropriate for me to be in this forum, not being intersexed myself, let me know and I'll hightail it. :)
Anyway, nice to meet you folks.

Hi! My name is Renee. Im 20, amd live in Ohio. Im not interesexed or transgendered. I hope it's OK that Im here. I saw the program"Is it a boy or girl" tonight. I just want you to know, even though I not like you, that I DO know what it's like to be looked at and treated differently, b/c Im not considered the 'norm'. I was born with a genetic disorder called Dwarfism. So Im a little person. I get looks and starts every day that Im out. So I know how that feels. I better go, I just wanted to say hi :)

Hi everyone, I am Gregory in Louisiana. I am not intersexed myself, but I am very interested in furthering the cause of greater awareness and understanding of intersexuality.
This is my first time taking part in an intersexuality discussion group, but I have been active in some anti-female/anti-male genital mutilation (FGM, MGM) groups. I think that both of these causes are facets of one issue. Members of both movements are fighting for a single, radically simple idea: a person's body belongs to that person and to no one else, and that person has the right to make informed decisions about their body when they are old enough to do so.
Of course, genital integrity is not the only issue facing the intersexed community. There is the problem of lack of understanding by society. That must be countered with love, understanding, and above all, openness. But I think that since these two movements overlap, both could greatly benefit from greater communication between each other and a greater understanding that we have a common goal in mind.
We can be much more formidible to the status quo if we stand up with a single voice.
Anyway, I really REALLY look forward to speaking with you all and getting to know you.
Love,
Gregory

Hi- another person who is not intersexed, but interested in genital integrity for all. Gregory- men's views are always welcome and needed on some of the circumcision debate boards, maybe you already post on some. Babycenter has one, as does mothering.com. Hope to see you.

I was born intersexed, and have just recently "come to terms" with that. I am so glad to have found a site like this, you have no idea (well, I guess, maybe you do :) ) how alone I feel about this. I've always felt like this part of my life is such a major secret that I'd never be able to talk about it or really deal with it. It's so awesome to not feel so alone anymore!
One other thing I might as well bring up now, is that I'm a Christian, and a fairly conservative one at that. I realize there probably aren't very many conservatives around here (and maybe for good reasons). I am still very confused about my issues with gender and sex, and am trying to work through them. I mention this just so you can be aware and know that if I say something insensitive (not that I plan to!) it is probably out of ignorance, and even so, I would never mean anything as a personal attack against someone or a group of people. I do, however, need to figure out some of the ethical implications to the issues that surround intersex and intergender, and that may take some time. Thanks for being patient with me. :)
I suppose I'll remain anonymous for now. . . maybe that will change sometime in the future too.
