Renee, first of all let me say that you are truly an inspirational young person. I hope that I can help my MRKH daughter adjust as well as your posts indicate you have. I hope that is still the case; I haven't seen any posts from you since Summer 2002.

Next, let me disclose that I am the father of a 2 year old diagnosed with MRKH before she even left the hospital of her birth. Today, I made two posts seeking advice; I hope I am giving back with this reply.

In terms of your question above, I did in fact read about a uterine transplant performed by doctors in Saudi Arabia (go figure!) in mid-2002. While it was not successful, I recall that a number of factors gave doctors confidence that this type of transplant will be successful in the future.

In speaking with a friend who as a doctor specializes in reconstructive genital surgery (don't know the correct name for the field), he said this was a big advance and that the pace of medical advance was going to make this a reality in the near future.
