Hello everyone!
Betsy I want to thank you for opening a forum dedicated to people conducting research and requesting assistance. Some websites don't even offer that. On that note I approach this privilege with the utmost respect and gratefulness.

My name is Lindsay and I am an undergrad at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. I am beginning a short documentary piece on intersex infants, western medicine, and intersex around the world. I have been able to get an endocrinologist, as well as Anne Fausto-Sterling to speak in my film. I'm looking to find a person who is willing to speak out on the topic of infants, surgery and gender assignment.

I have found since developing the idea for this project and talking to people around me about it, no one seems to hear much about it. And that is what my piece has come down to- making people aware. Because this issue is held in secrecy and shame, that is even more of a reason to bring it to light. My mission is not to uncover a new medical theory based on research I will conduct- but rather to tell some real stories, about real people, as well as have the necessary history (hence the doctor and the professor). I hope someone would be so willing as to step forward and speak with me or suggest someone I could speak with. (Keep in mind I am on the East Coast.)

I feel that the social change comes about through communication and action. If I can make an intelligent and well-informed film on intersex with the help of people who really want to encourage social change, and a new group of people sees it, then it is a success.

Thank you for the opportunity to post my request, and I hope to hear from someone soon!

Sincerely,
Lindsay
