Yippee for me! :-) My insurance just approved an MRI. I was beginning to doubt that they would, after such an unenthusiatic sounding sonogram report. My doctor will let me know when my test is scheduled for. Finally, I might start getting somewhere :-)

I know it's pretty lame replying to your own posts.
My pelvic mri is early on tuesday morning. If current medical
information is forthcoming, then maybe I won't have to take
legal action against the doctor who is holding on to my child-
hood medical records. - Melissa
Melissa,
I can tell your a little bit excited, maybe the mri will give you some of the answers your looking for.
Wish you the best of Luck & a favorable outcome (smile)..

Hi Melissa:
Congratulations! I live in Northern CA and was wondering if I could get the same insurance here. Have been having a lot of difficulty getting medical insurance at all and am getting kind of frustrated at filling out lengthy "interrogatories" only to receive declined letters :-( I have an appointment on May 23 with an endocrinologist at UCSF for tests to establish exactly what category of intersex I fall in and I know it is just going to cost me and arm and a leg without insurance.

Oh, I got mine as part of my job benefits. If they'd wanted to deny me
coverage, then I guess they'd have to acknowledge what they've already
found. As it is, it took 2 sonograms, an endoscopy, and long-term pain
w/ occasional blood, just for me to get this far into a diagnosis.
I know I don't have AIS. I just never had more than fieldmouse's worth
of androgens to effect me. If I take my life's symptoms at face value,
along with my ancestry, and the interestingly shaped thing inside me,
at this point I'd guess at 20,22 desmolase deficiency. Though I'm no MD,
just a highly interested layperson.

Hi,
You'd wanted a straight answer to my insurance company. It was Cigna.
I can tell you that because apparently I've lost my job. It becomes official
after I talk to HR tommorow. This won't help my medical situation, I'm
sure. Unemployed persons in New Hampshire generally don't have any
health insurance at all. Once I get work again, maybe I'd be denied
coverage based on my medical history.

Well, bummer on the job situation! That really sucks.
However, you will be offered the opportunity to obtain what they call "COBRA" coverage. Unfortunately, you will need to pay for it but it's usually quite a bit cheaper than private insurance. If you opt-in for it, you will be able to get it for 18 months, and in some cases, possibly longer.
