A thread expiry mechanism has been put into place. Threads will now expire 60-90 days after the last post to them. Some are set higher at 120 days and a very few have no expiration date on them.
If necessary, admins or moderators (that would be myself or Peter) can open a expired thread by simply making a post to it and at which point, the clock starts running again.
I had a similar expiry code in here a while ago and must have overwritten it with an update.
It's not meant to discourage posting, but rather to encourage new threads instead of digging up old ones as occurred earlier today which brought to my attention that I had lost the code hack somewhere.
Please let me know if I inadvertantly introduced any bugs.
