"Clitoral reduction surgery"
"I would be very interested to hear from anyone who had had a clitoral reduction surgery carried out on them either as an adult or as a child that is happy. Was it the right decision for you? Do you wish it had happened when you were a child or were you glad that the decision was left to you?"
Unfortunately I had missed out on replying to this post, but having discussed this same condition with other born females who have an enlarged clitoris, it's my understanding that it's best to leave well enough alone and learn to live with it. I'm a born male was rather average, but when the gonads were removed due to testicular problems related to Agent Orange I was to discover that my hormone receptors no longer responded to testosterone injections, and that it would probably exacerbate and already pre-cancerous condition. So I opted for female hormones under the watchful eye of my endocrinologist for lo these last ten years. It made my penis atrophy to the extent that I can no longer be trusted to stand in front of a toilet and have opted to sit like a female. Unfortunately it just disappears within which makes it a chore to be neat. I had almost considered sexual reassignment surgery just to alleviate that sort of problem, but opted out as it would create more problems than I have to deal with at present. Best plan for anyone considering any kind of genital surgery is to develop a pro's and con's list and research it carefully first, once your lights go out on the OR table it's a done deal and there's no recourse following a change of heart.
