Hi,

Im so happy to find a place to post questions! Its been so hard because we though we were the only ones effected by this. Our 8 month old little girl was born with Congenital Arenal Hyplasia. Her doctors are pushing sugery on us. We dont think she needs it, but have decided to search the net for mopre infomation. But we cant find anything that tells us surgery is a good thing. We find only things against surgery,. Has anyone had simlar experience? What did you do? Can you point us to other sites?

Thank-you,

Stinkers...because sometimes she really is one...:(

Hi Stinker...(love the name...my dad calls me that still at the age of 37! so it put a smile on my face)

Welcome to Bodies Like Ours.

I understand and admire your conviction. You are doing the right thing by questioning surgery, even though it may not feel that way right now. Your daughter will thank you for allowing her to make that choice herself when she is old enough to do that based upon information that will affect her.

Even though they not may be posting yet, there are many parents who have been your shoes and hopefully they will respond to your question sooner rather than later.

As far as your questions, I'm sorry that I can't point you to anything. I have not found any sites that are independently pro-surgery. I say independently because the sites that do recommend surgery are all medical sites. I haven't ever seen any that are by women who have had this surgery and felt enough conviction over the results to share them.
