View Full Version : Downside of activism

This morning I went to another forum for the first time, a comic strip with subject matter unrelated to intersex. And I was immediately banned, because one of their mods apparently reads BLO and doesn't like the things I've said here. I wasn't planning to discuss intersex there.

I'm not even an activist really, all I've ever done is speak my mind, and sometimes apologize when I go too far. I wonder if this is just a small taste of activism's downside. The real activists here have hinted at much worse.

I'll pm you with which site. But I don't like hiding behind an alias, it feels false. They banned my ip address anyways. It's not a big deal though, knowing how they are, I don't think I'd enjoy visiting with such angry people.

Hi Priestess,

If you didn't mind an alias, you could always avoid the exact IP address by trying a dialup. You might get through that way. I don't blame you about angry people. Why have to deal with that when there are more important things to do (well imo anyway). Lately I've tended to stay away from things that upset me and that I can't do much about.
