I am a mum who has a 13yr daughter with cah would any one like to chat.
My daughter would like to chat to male/female 12-15yr
I'd be happy to talk with you and your daughter. Although I'm older than 12 -15, as an adult I have some keen insight into what your daughter might be feeling, and what lies ahead. Becoming "grown up" is such a struggle for every kid, but the added complications of CAH can make it even harder.

Hi Carol,
My son is 14 and has CAH, so I certainly empathize with you and your daughter regarding the weight and skin issue. My son has extremely sensitive skin but we have found using Curel lotion works wonderfully well. It is a bit pricey but more than worth it. When he does not use the Curel, his skin breaks out so badly it is painful for him. We also struggle with acne, and so far have not found anything truly effective. How about you all? As for the weight, my son is slightly overweight but extremely muscular so it does not present as much as a problem. Besides, I think for a boy, it is different. Teenage boys don't seem to make an issue out of weight like teenage girls do. My biggest concern right now is growth. I am afraid that CAH has caused his growth to be stunted. He is 5'4" but supposedly has a bone age of 17. Do you do bone age testing? Does your daughter seem to be growing at a normal rate?
It is nice to have someone to discuss this condition with. I look forward to talking with you more....

Hi karen
nice to hear from you is your son a salt loser my daughter
is. She has had trouble with her skin and weight but
i have took her to our GP and they gave her some cream
for it, it did work but she needed something a little stronger
so they gave her some antibiotics and they have done
wonders for her it has cleared her skin up very well.
As for her weight she has been seeing a deitition and
told her instead of going on diets to think of healthy eating,
well she is doing very well and has lost about 13lbs in
weight so far which is grt for her.
Her height is 4ft 11 and i was told that she will not get any
taller but im going to get a bone xray done on our next
visit on 27thaug and see what results they show weather
her bones have fused together yet.
Thanks for yr reply and if you would like to chat more my
email address is Mcdowallmcd@<hidden>
Hope to hear from you carol
