I find it amusing that scientists are finding more and more animals which are sometimes homosexual, which kind of flies in the face of much Darwinian superiority claimed for being straight.

Here's the questionnaire with typos cleaned up:

I have gotten to used to a spell checker!!

Has anyone heard of a sex/ Gender system?
I 've heard that is a system of male dominance made possable by mens control over womans productiveness , sexuaity, and family life. There from what I've heard are two very diffrent points of view. The femmisist and the masuline and they fit into this system. It deals with the masuline control that is over science and other things in our culture. and the femmist deals with the opprestion that woman go through not being equal with men. How would that apply to a intersexed person, say a girl with masuline veiws on life or a male that is a socialist feminism.
DO are views as intersexed change depending on wheather we share the femminest view on life or the masuline???

Hi there yīall!

My (intersexed) partner and I were discussing if itīs just a coincidence that quite a few intersexed people seems to be homosexuals?? Am I right on this?

There are of course a number of straight and bi intersexed people as well, but most of the intersexed people I get in touch with, are intersexed lesbians...
My partner believes that there must be some kind of biological factor involved in this, īcause if you raise an intersexed child to become f.ex a girl and tell the child nothing about what happened, but still the child often has problems to feel "at home" in her body. "She" thinks itīs not only due to the surgeries and physical circumstances. Itīs highly psychological as well.
Here in Sweden, so called "queer theory" is very much in fashion now, where they say that gender and sexuality are complete social constructions throughout. Iīd like to believe that, as biologism has caused so many dangerous assumptions about human beings, but then: do you think this is just coincidences , or?

Best regards A

Hi!
I don`t agree completely about the major society role in gender determination. We have to remember about clearly anatomical differences in male and female brain. OK, may bet it doesn`t matter in gender self determination, but it is VERY interesting how the brain structures are constructed if one is IS person. I looked in internet but found nothing. Actually I am going to right paper (review) about IS consditions in Latvian medical journal- if somebody have information about the point- write me.
With all my best.

AT one time most exsplanations to exspain excluve homosexual behavoir were attributed to pychological theoirys, such as childhood exsperiences,a absent father or very domineering mothers. Others say that learning exsperiences, haveing a very sexualy rewarding incounter with some one of the same sex, are responsible. A very large scale study of hundreds of gay man and woman failed to prove this on any level. (Brain and behavior Flyod Bloom)

The mind can just be endlessly inventive in its ideas about what is sexualy arousing and its search for injoyment of sexual activity.
For some simply imagining-fantasizing about a sexual encounter- can bring arousal and even orgasm. WE send all kinds of sexual signals to each other, inculding fast sport cars, poetry and athletic prowess,so on and so forth. Most of the brain in males and female are the same. I have one teacher who tells me that there are very tiny deffrences between male and female brains. and other teacher who says that it is myth and hard core testing have yet to prove this. You need to have many Doctors doing the same testing and getting the same results before you can really back up a claim.

The anterior commisure, a myelinated bundle of axons connecting the left and right lobes of the brain has been reported being larger in homosexual men. Also the Suprachiamatic nucleus in the hypothamus has been reported to be large in hertosexual woman and gay men. Also the organizational effects of androgen on the developing brain is diffrent in males and females and the intersexed. This does not though, prove that homosexuality is all biologically based. Untill more proof is offered I would say that many factors can lead a peson to be homosexual.

Are most intersexed people gay? It would seem that a lot of intersexed girls here on this post are gay, but I don't think that counts for intersexed people who don't want to search out other intersexuals and just live there lifes. I'm sure that there is a ton of hetrosexual intersexuals we just don't hear about them on this posting board.

About people feeling at home in your body. A lot of people non- intersexuals as well don't like their bodys or gentials. In fact, I think all of us at some point in our life don't like how we look or how we feel in our bodys. I think it doesn't matter if your fat or thin, if you have a mirco penis or a neovagina, if you look like a girl or boy it is up to you only to make peace with your body. It is the only body you have and it is a gift. People who don't like their bodys might have a issue with self-image. That may have nothing to dowith being intersexed. I have a transgenderd friend (girl) who I'm helping with male hormone therapy. She likes her body thats not the problem. She just wants to be a boy because.. well she just does. I will help her with that because that is her choice. If you don't like your body as a girl, you might not like it as a boy eather. Before you go changing hormones around you have to find peace with your skin, body and face, weather you had gentail surgery or not. You have to love your body for what it already is, and what it will become if you choose to change your hormones. It is all about self-respect, self-love and of course excepting what you can't change about your past, but living fully for the future. I hope this has helped:D

Hey kaads,

I can probably send you information. Let me know what kind of stuff you are looking for as I'm not sure I am clear from what you wrote.

Many intersex conditions appear to have no affect on incidences of homosexuality as compared with general populations.

However, some clearly do such as Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia in females. The theory being that the androgens that run rampant on our genitals inutero also run rampant on our brains.

While it is VERY important not to equate intersex with homosexuality, it is also important not to exclude anyone in our community.

Thank you! The think i am not sure about is if termins hetero or homosexuality are applicable to intersexed persons. If homosexuality is when one prefers to have sexual realtionships with the the person of same sex and heterosexulaty when the opposite sex is preferred, the terminology question is what sex is the same or opposite for IS person. From one side it is question of gender identity but if we look from formal poit if view the situation remains unclear.
OK:confused:
