On Thursday evening, June 12, 2003 an exciting and important event is being held the NYC LGBT Center (“The Center”). If you are free on Thursday evening, we hope you will be able to attend. The Intersex Debate
Come join leading scholars, activists, and physicians for a discussion challenging social and medical attitudes concerning intersexuality. Participants include Suzanne Kessler, Professor of Psychology at Purchase University and author of Lessons from the Intersexed; Betsy Driver, Co-founder and Executive Director of Bodies Like Ours; Dr. Kenneth Glassberg, Director of Pediatric Urology at the Children’s Hospital of New York and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University; and Ellen Feder, member of the Intersex Society of North America and author of "Doctor’s Orders: Parents and Intersexed Children" in The Subject of Care: Feminist Perspectives on Dependency. The event will take place at the New York City Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center on June 12, 2003 at 7:00pm (arrive early for a pre-social).
