Friends,
We are planning our Creating Change workshops this week. This year, Creating Change, sponsored by the NGLTF is being held in South Beach, November 5-9, with most workshops held on 11/5 and the morning of 11/6.
This year's intersex program (assuming our proposal gets accepted) will be presented in cooperation with ISNA and Intersex Initiative Portland. We are hoping for a two-parter---tentatively a basic IS 101, and then a 201 level which will discuss ways to further our advocacy and goals of eliminating IGM and eliminating shame and secrecy that surrounds us throughout our lives.
We are also exploring the possibility of sponsoring an Intersex Film Festival on site one evening.
Creating Change is a wonderful conference, particularly if the area of activism interests you. With that in mind, we would like to encourage everyone who can, to try and make this conference so we can even explore a possible caucus of some type. If nothing else, it would be wonderful to have a large presence there.
While it is sponsored by the National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce, you do not need to be under that umbrella to attend; this is simply about making our presence and numbers known and recognized.
If you might be interested in attending, please let me know. Conference fees and travel are your responsibility (think South Beach in November!) For conference information, visit http://www.creatingchange.org.
I will update this once I know whether our workshop track proposal was accepted, and in what form.
