Friends, I'm going to try and keep this volunteer request idea thing going here even though I've been neglectful of it in the past months.

One of the problems is that while many people have offered to do volunteer work, I'm not always good at assigning it.

So, if you are interested in volunteering you skills with Bodies Like Ours or elsewhere in the intersex movement, either post here with what those skills are so we can find a place for you or write with what they are.

It's much better for us if we know you can do before we ask you do something you cannot.

In the same vein, I am going to begin posting tasks we really need done that people can do from their own space and hopefully someone will jump in, kind of like Peter did with the medical records query.

Cheers,

Betsy

Hi Betsy

My skills may or may not be useful but if I can be of help anywhere
let me know.

Practical Skills: (Perhaps the most useful)

Typing
Writing
Illustration
Programming
(Asm, Pascal, C++. Not too good on markup languages for web work but willing to learn)

Other Skills. (Probably handy but not important)

Genetics/Biochemistry
(Is sometimes useful for debunking medics and or other crackpots who use biological arguments for mutilating or experimenting on IS kids, the AISSG seem to have me in a debunking role from time to time).

All the best

:)

Well, it's been a while since I've done any programming, so I'm pretty rusty, but I used to work as a web programmer using PHP and MySQL. Not sure how much help I could be with as busy as my life has been here recently, but I'll help if I can.

What is it you are looking for.

I'm interested in becoming an Intersex activist, currently in Australia, only 1 state has an intersex law.

It simply states that those born intersexed cannot be legally recognised as exclusively male or female.
Nothing in this law protects children in our position from being tampered with.

I aspire to study to become a lawyer and one day be dedicated to fighting such human rights abuses.

But what can I do in the meantime???
