Support IAD and send a message that fights intolerance

We need your help to make the first ever Intersex Awareness Day a reality.
Intersex advocates and their allies throughout the world are planning for the first ever Intersex Awareness Day to be held on October 26, 2004. This annual event honors the first Hermaphrodites With Attitude demonstration held outside of a meeting of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Endorsed by Bodies Like Ours and the Intersex Initiative, events are being planned internationally. Visit the special website that has been set up for planning IAD at http://www.intersex-awareness-day.org

There are many great plans to note the day but we need some financial help to make it happen.

Recently the Traditional Values Coalition has released a report on the "intersex agenda" as part of their "Homosexual Agenda" propaganda (http://traditionalvalues.org/urban/ten.php) Their reaction to the article published by Time Magazine earlier this year was full of inaccuracies and clearly they do not understand intersex conditions. This article featured Bodies Like Ours Board of Directors member Elijah Hobbs as well as other members of our online community. Not only is the TVC wrong about intersex issues being a tool of the LGBT movement, they are also incorrect in their summation that we are trying to create a third gender. Intersex advocates recommend raising a child as either male or female without surgical reinforcement and with the understanding that sometimes initial determinations are incorrect.

Here's your chance to send the TVC a message that you do not support their intolorence of people born with intersex conditions and that you support Intersex Awareness Day at the same time. For a donation of $25.00 or more, Bodies Like Ours will send a greeting card in your name along with your personal message to them wishing them "Happy Intersex Awareness Day". The greeting card will be sent via first class mail to their Washington Headquarters.

Visit our website at http://www.bodieslikeours.org to pick your greeting or submit your own and send a message that fights intolerance that helps support Intersex Awareness Day at the same time.
