For over ten years, I have lived with the belief that there was absolutely no one else in the world like me. I have spent that time avoiding doctors (and nearly let myself die of pneumonia), because every doctor wanted to make a case study out of me. One actually led me out to the reception area, gathering all the nurses and staff around and began to give them an oral presentation on my condition - in full view and hearing of other waiting patients!
I am so glad to find that I am not alone! I am not a "genetic freak" as I have been told. And not only are there others with MRKH, but from reading all the posts here, I have found that so many of you are so caring and supportive. I am also frightened by the various health problems I have found out are associated with this. For years, doctors have told me that I am a hypochondriac, dismissing my back pain, joint pain, allergy and circulation problems. Maybe with the information I have found here and at mrkh.org, I can finally convince them to take my problems seriously.
I am so glad to have finally found this site, and hope that someday MRKH will be more well known. I have read so many horror stories that so closely resemble my own. I just want to say that for any of you out there who have an loving and supportive network of family and/or friends, you are SO lucky! There are some of us out here who have no one.
