Hurricane Jeanne

I'm getting really tired of posting these notices about hurricanes and Florida. As you may know, hurricane Jeanne appears to be setting her sights on Florida. Florida is also where this website lives, albeit vicariously this season.

While it is unlikely you will see any disruption in service this weekend (probably Sunday), I'm not the type to rule it out. The data center where our server is survived Charley and Frances just fine and I expect it will be with same with Jeanne. However...if you should see some interruptions, blame it on Mother Nature.

I just hope little betsy survives. I bought some friends an avocado tree after they lost many during Charley and they named it Little Betsy (http://www.picolio.com/Gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=AvocadoTree&id=082504a_Avocado)

Also, best of luck to all of our members who may be affected by Jeanne.

All these hurricanes are getting to me! I've been lucky that they happen on the off days for my radiation and chemo. I liked the avocado tree!
How's the flooding ? I saw it on TV.

We did have some flooding in the downtown area and particulary south of town along the river. Just yesterday I had to go south for a meeting and the were detours and road closures. The parts that are open are still pretty damaged however. I'm hoping Jeanne doesn't take a similar route up the appalachians and result in more flooding!
