If you are taking meds to prevent ovulation, it also prevents sperm formation. The cells respond to the same things. Estrogen regulates sperm production ( look up sertoli cells ) and there is no estrogen without testosterone. The ovaries make tons of testosterone it is all just aromatised into estradiol.
If you block testosterone or estrogen, male or female you loose fertility. If you take hormones, testosterone or estrogen, male or female you loose fertility. It is all a check and balance. You could force fetility thought high doses of HGH and/or menotropins similar to what is used to egg collection or IVF. It's not easy for normal people and god knows what it would do to a true hermaphrodite. |
