View Full Version : masks
Hi everybody! I just thought - may be we all wear some kind of masks-man or woman mask and accordingly play roles in community. But if you are YOU, why do you have to do it . Of course we get some kind of comfort when people around us see us playing definite roles and dont stress "Oh, see he(she) is not usual man (woman)". Personally I feel that I am IS and why I have to wear such mask. In Latvia it causes ununderstanding from the people around. But it isn`t matter to close one part of me and straighten the another part just to belong to community of definite sex people. What do you think about it????
OK
Well it's true we tend to put on masks for a lot of reasons. We act differently in front of our parents (regardless of our current age) than we do in front of our bosses, than in front of our close friends. It's a natural defense to project the kind of social appearance that helps us blend in.
Maybe the question is not whether we use masks, but whether the masks are too far from our true selves. How much compromise is acceptable for appearance's sake? When does the mask go from "a tool for socialization" to "a complete and utter lie"?

I do not feel that it is a mask to hide from our own indifference with society . I feel that most of the time it is what feels comfortable for me.
I live in a city that loves our female , male and the gay population but mention your are none of the above and hatred becomes ones own. Recently there was a Transgendered female murdered near where I live. I stay away from such madness.
I figure I am not going to put myself in a position that is going to get me hurt.
Yes I wear a mask but at times for my own safety.
Parents today have the right to abort individuals who do not meet their expectations. I would never delete an individual.
This is sad but it is a cleansing effort to rid of such individuals as I.
I hope one day I will be able to remove the mask I wear.
Have a nice day.
