Republican senators had been provided with talking points about how to respond to requests to the Schiavo case, which was described as a "great political issue" that resonates with Christian conservatives.

This is a quote from the NYtimes story about the Schiavo case developments over the past two days. The fact that the congress would get involved with this, that Tom DeLay of Texas would make this his business, just burns me up inside. This is such an intensely private decision and these people are simply interfering with it when they have no business doing so.

For background, see this story: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/20/politics/20debate.html?ei=5094&en=3df806c41d664582&hp=&ex=1111294800&adxnnl=1&partner=homepage&adxnnlx=1111295439-Ku7AQKPulH5pOITfaBgywQ

It's a NYTimes story and you need to register for the site but it's free and they don't spam.

Is this just another step in imposing personal moralities on other people? What will the next event be? We can be sure that this is not the last time these jerks in DC will attempt to impose themselves. As we struggle for the rights of not having medical procedures imposed on us without our consent, is this an indicator of what we will encounter one day--that some jerk in DC will say they know what we want because as infants those with intersex can't speak for themselves?

Forcing medical treatment on anyone is simply wrong for so many reasons.

These assholes are like boorish dinner guests that simply won't go home at the end of the night.
