:bat: Hi, My name is Zoë. I'm a thirty-six year old woman. I have a spinal-cord injury and F.M.S..I identify as a lesbian, although i have had a couple one-night-stands with men, while I was growing up. I was born with P.I.V., and actually have two birth certifacates, one from right at my birth...and one created 3 months later. Im native american(cherokee and some blackfoot on my mothers side), so ayt my birth, my parents(or so my mother says) were'nt given much of a choice about what the Drs. said needed to be done to me to make me normal. Since then, Iv'e had to have several smaller procedures to try and repair this or that, but one thing remains constant, and that is that i constantly have to fight uti infections. They get so bad that iv'e been hospitlized because of them a few times.
I'm looking foreward to getting to talk with everyone in the boards and chats. I'm really hoping that I can find some sense of community here at "Bodies like ours". Even when Im with my friends, most of who are gay women, I still never quite feel like "a part of", I guess because only a couple of them know "all about Zoë". I truley wish we all lived in a society that didn't care what kind of body I had, as long as my spirit was strong, and my mind was able to contribute to the good in the world.
