Research Center Concludes That Hunters ‘Compensate’ for Diminutive Genitalia by Acting Out Domination Fantasies

Norfolk, Va. — While the results of the research are preliminary, scientists at the Diminutive Male Genitalia Disorder Research Organization have discovered a genetic link between small penis size and the thrill of the hunt. The organization recently began to tabulate data from a two-year study of men with Diminutive Male Genitalia Disorder (DMGD) and has posted the results on its Web site, DMGD.org.
The subjects of the study varied from men with a slight abnormality in penis size to men with pubis innius, a term for an inverted male pubic region. By tracing what has been identified as the "DMGD gene," an abnormality in the 21st chromosome was discovered. Researchers found that this abnormality appears to be consistently linked to two traits: abnormally small male reproductive organs and the ability to derive joy from killing, which starts with hunting small game and, in isolated instances, can manifest itself in homicidal acts. Research team leader Dr. Brian Upchurch and his colleagues in New Orleans, La., plan to investigate whether DMGD was a factor in the 2004 Sawyer County, Wis., incident in which a deer hunter went on a rampage and killed six other hunters.
"These findings confirm what we have believed for a long time: Hunters just don’t measure up," says PETA’s Justin Jest. "They are apparently overcompensating for their failure to hit the mark in the bedroom by blowing small animals away in the woods."
PETA intends to incorporate the findings of the study into campaign materials to combat hunting.

Bodies Like Ours Denounces PETA Press Release/Joke about Intersex
In an April 1, 2005 press release that may in fact be an April Fools’ joke, the
People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals targets men and boys with micropenis and
absence of a penis for their jokes and ad campaigns.
A bizarre and hurtful fantasy of PETA implies that those with certain types of
intersex, which they give their own name and acronym to, are not fully men,
cowardly, and possibly murderers. PETA spokesperson, Justin Jest, states that men
with a small penis, “…just don’t measure up.” The announcement further implies men
with micropenis are unable to have adequate sex lives with their partner.
PETA, in their zealousness to make a statement against hunting, has crossed the line
by using those born with intersex as joke fodder.
Micropenis and absence of a penis often result in healthy boys undergoing sex
reassignments without their consent on the assumption that a small penis lessens
their masculinity and they would be happier as girls. Once they are surgically
turned into girls, they are often given dangerous hormones to finish the job. Other
rationales behind these brutal surgeries include the misconception that men with
small penises are unable to have satisfying heterosexual penetrative intercourse.
Recent research by Dr. Bill Reiner indicates that many children who undergo sex
reassignment in childhood eventually reclaim the original gender they were born
with.

Bodies Like Ours is hopeful that PETA will find another way method for their animal
rights activism and discontinue this ploy which only adds stigma and shame to those
born intersex. We are encouraging our supporters and members to contact them to
express their outrage over intersex being the butt of their jokes and possible ad
campaigns. The online press release includes the following name and phone number

Betsy.
I think you are our mean dog fixing to get a piece of PETA ass.
I live way out in the country where the GIRLS out hunt the men. And spit tobacco better than the men also…yuck. So what’s PETA’s research about women hunters? I have a Ruger 44 mag. Super Blackhawk with a Redfield 2.5 scope that has knocked the snot out of a garden munching/ flower eating deer at 200 yards. I have venison in my fridge at this very minute. We the people in the country kill dear to eat them. They taste good. Squirrel, rabbit, frog, quail, pheasant, and wild turkey taste good also. I just go outside and get one.
PETA people have always left a bad taste in my mouth. I guess that’s why we don’t eat them! :gulp:
Hunting has little to do with my anger over this.
It's just another example of why we must be diligent at putting a stop to those who think any type of intersex are a joke. This particular one, which includes a pretty thoughtless webpage in addition to the press release, is particularly horrendous given the fact that it seeks to perpetuate untruths and stereotypes.
I would encourage everyone to let PETA know how wrong they are to use intersex in what appears to be an April Fools's Day joke..

Betsy, you're right....I have "one of those" mentioned....along with "other things", and I am certainly not a murderer, hunter for the thrill of it....and neither are many who are under-masculinized, intersex or not (since some say that micro this and hypogonadism that, is not so). To ridicule and/or stereotype those that are "under-whatever" as brutes or otherwise (lesser men/boys or "girly-boys") is f**ked up, and I will write to these same breed of idiots who on occassion, have come to the University and destroyed equipment, harassed researchers, broke into buildings at night and released lab animals (to be promptly eaten by predators or eventually die due to inability to survive in the wild). I wisecracked before because I initially really considered the whole thing a joke......research about hunting genes and associating it with genital anatomies simply sounded ludicrous. ....thank you for clarifying an important point.

I think I need new glasses; I completely did not see the April Fool part. :pat: .
:rolleyes2 .
....however, the things said in PETA's article were not humorous.
I personally don't think it was acceptable, April Fools' or not. And I'm assuming on the AF part, based in part on the flak's name, "Justin Jest".
It was a stupid AF day joke if it was, and it's a stupid campaign if it is really is one. Tons of folks wrote emails to them, and Sirius OutQ radio news called looking for a comment as well.
Speaking of April Fools's, I need to check the kitty.

Yes, this is an entirely pointless piece of trash, and i don't know why someone would think it was a good use of time, especially the "hard-working PETA folk" as they would like us to think. But, someone, who didn't even have the strength to put his name on it, decided he'd spend a couple hours on it instead of hunting down fur coat wearers. I'm sure these men are the same tough guys who decide that makeup is unrighteous, because it's tested on poor little mice. oh well, i have better things to do with my time than worry about PETA, who i always thought could spend their time better anyways, like saving poor children instead of snakes and lizards.

I think that would be the worst part of this.
Anyone could read it and think this was based on an actual study which may all be seen as coincidental but the impression could lay upon the mind of those who do not realize its a joke.
Anytime someone mentions "study".....people are like "AH....unbiased facts...they used real people to do this"
Another thing is there isn't that much humor in it.
This fits a pattern. PETA did the same thing a year or so ago (Jan 2004?) with billboards of a heavy man with Photoshopped breasts. The strapline went "Dude looks like a lady... lose the boobs, go vegetarian".
This might be funny to some, but I don't get the joke. Even after 19 years as a vegetarian and a few, more recently, eating fish too...
I don't get why they have to push their case by doing people down. They must think of us as their worst nightmare.

Have they never heard of phytoestrogens?
...Indeed, in terms of in vitro oestrogenic potency these compounds are considerably more active than most of the oestrogenic industrial chemicals. Human exposure to phytoestrogens, and to a lesser extent to mycoestrogens, can also be substantial (Setchell 1985, Adlercreutz 1995).
The richest dietary source of phytoestrogens for humans is soya and soya-derived products (Fig. 3), although legumes, whole grains and flax-derived products are also potentially important, especially in vegetarians (Knight & Eden 1996). The oestrogenic potency of these natural compounds is illustrated by the numerous instances in which ingestion severely disrupts normal reproduction in animals such as sheep (‘clover disease’), pigs (‘mouldy corn syndrome’), captive cheetahs and quail (see Kaldas & Hughes 1989, Setchell 1995), effects which can sometimes be irreversible....

Or is the text on the billboard not correct? Should it read someting like
"Want Boobs? Go Vegetarian!" or "Got Soy... Want Meat."
The PETA campaign possibly proves that John D. MacArthur is right ("Tofu Shrinks Brain! (http://www.mercola.com/2000/sep/17/soy_brain.htm)" )

Hi Miriam
PETA were basing the billboard on the US farming industry's use of hormones in cattle (this is illegal in Europe, btw).

Becoming vegetarian doesn't imply an increase in the use of soy products, in my experience. Unless you're 'vegan' or lactose intolerant, which are different.
Whatever the reason and it's validity or otherwise, it doesn't justify this negative campaigning.

These PETA people seem to have much more respect for animals than people, and, as seen by their (sickening) humorous take on intersex , have no respect there at all. But if any one of their ilk now finds out that veggies will make "boobed males"....what are they (the males, at least) going to eat?......why,.... what they have been eating all along.......sh*t. :interesti
Gee...more wonderful PETA decisions:
