Partial results back from my mri
They divided it into two sections;;
(1) my upper abdominal area is healthy
(2) for my pelvic area, their findings are still being transcribed
I've got a meeting with my doctor on thursday to discuss the matter.
Given the amount of very real hurting since I was 8, and given the
fiendish amount of pain I've been in since the mri, they 'd better say
they found *something* in there. I don't really care what, as long as
it's treatable. And I know that I wasn't experiencing both tactile
and visual hallucinations during last year's colonoscopy. I wasn't
even under anesthesia (talk about a painful procedure ...)
(or else !!!, hmmphf ...)

Hi Melissa,
You wrote: "I know that I wasn't experiencing both tactile

I am curious to know what you saw and felt during last year's colonoscopy. I believe that most colonoscopies are done with an endoscope attached to an external television monitor. I know that people often talk about the pain of colonoscopies. I have never experienced any real pain, and only minor discomfort. The exams can be a real lifesaver, especially in people over 50.

My doctor called me today to cancel tommorow's appointment
when I was supposed to find out just what they found in my pelvis.
As you recall, they said my upper abdomen was fine, and my
pelvic area wasn't.
As it turns out, the radiologist in charge at the hospital where
I had my MRI, has apparently refused to put his or her signature
on ANY official report about my pelvic area. So I can't be told
anything. grrrrr
Everytime I get tested, it seems like no doctor wants to see what
they saw. I think I should get Dean to go bother these people.

I have a suggestion. Call the insurance company and tell them not to pay for it. Obviously, you risk having the hospital threaten you with collection and I suggest replying that without the results, you are not paying. If they pursue and go to court, repeat the same thing and then they have to repeat it in open court as to why and if you are ruled against, you can then resubmit to insurance.
The insurance company may also enforce release of information before they are willing to pay.
Of course, I'm not a lawyer but it is what I would do.
Was it a NH facility or MA one?
Also, consider calling the ethics department of the hospital to get them involved.
Also, contact the patient advocate for the hospital and you may also want to contact these people regarding your job situation: http://www.patientadvocate.org/

Melissa!
what kind of "medical" people are you dealing with!? No anesthesia with a colonoscopy, refusal to sign a medical test....abrupt cancellation of appoinments inre serious health issues?........it all sounds like something out of the TV series; The X-Files..........are you sure some of these people are really human :whatchuta , or maybe agents of some secret organization? :bat: .......oh, no, wait!.........I forgot.....they're "normal" and you're not; making you the alien and they the humans.
Whatever the case may be, something very screwy :secret: and wrong :omg_smile is going on.

Would enforcing release of info be good or bad for me?
It was an NH facility
Thanks for the patient advocate info. I'd never heard of them.
I'll try the other stuff, if I can't get answers. I think something's
rotten in Denmark. This is the same garbage I've had to put up with
for two sonograms and a colonoscopy. It makes me think I'm right
about what I'd experienced during the 'scopy.

The no anesthesia during the colonoscopy was my fault. I was scared of
being put under and never waking up again. All my life I've had nightmares
about evil doctors pretty much dissecting me with me strapped down to
a table. The phobia was too real, I couldn't have gone through with it,
without being awake. Besides, I thought I had a high pain threshold. I
don't think I could take things much worse than the 'scopy though.

Insurance companies can get it anyways without your permission--it's part of your agreement with them for covering you. They keep records of what they are paying for stuff, including results.
Another sugguestion which I didn't mention originally, see what happens if you request a copy of the films. Ordinarily they are quite easy to obtain.
Have you spoken to Dean recently? Please let me know in a PM; if necessary, I'll seek other resources for you.

Hi Melissa
Given that you're in some pain and there could be something seriously wrong with long term consequences, the actions of the radiologist actually sound negligent.
Hope the situation changes for you,
Morgan
