Of course, every birthday is worth celebrating, especially Fee's.
Just a question, how do highlanders celebrate? Do your friends and
relatives have a piper come to your house? Or is that just too
stereotypical to be real? :-)

I have a scot's uncle (uncle by marriage)
Hey, thanks Melissa x..erm no, we tend to leave pipers for weddings and those more formal events...but there is usually a fair amount of drinking, singing and dancing, particularly the former..lol. I've just got in from lunch out with a friend and feeling very mellow and relaxed. However, this birthday is a number I'm not that keen to hit with a bang this year although friends have all said it is a fairly painless transition.. :partysmil

Aww, come on ... I'll play the kazoo for you, and let me tell you about
my 39 yo grandmother :-) Actually she's 90, but she had the health and
appearance of 59/60 until very recently. One of the very few genuine
red-headed italians to be found, it ran occasionally in her family line.
But she's had zest and vigor beyond rational explanations. So who should
care about the number of candles on your birthday cake? :-)
Hey, thanks Nimo, Kate and Melissa for those kind birthday wishes...Well, it wasn't too bad, my 40th...went for lunch in the oldest pub in the UK - lovely wee buiding with a low, beamed ceiling, outside toilets etc...And I'm gonna be celebrating a tad in Scotland soon too...me and my 3 sisters, my Mum, plus all 11 grandchildren, are getting together on the banks of the River Tay, for a day's salmon-fishing, drinking and chilling out...used to do this lots when my Dad was alive.
Have a good weekend, all.
