View Full Version : upcoming radio (kind of big)
I did a pre-interview with a major NPR station in the northeast for something they hope to do June 16 or 17th. It's on a show I love listening to so I am quite thrilled about it, if it comes through. It usually is one hour including listener questions/comments. While it is a locally produced show, it is available live on the internet and has listeners from throughout the world based upon past calls to it (yes---it is that good) I'll post something when I have the firm date, including an URL.

Thursday, June 30. 11am-12noon eastern time on Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane airing on WHYY 91 FM, the NPR affiliate in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia? Say What? You don't live there?
You can listen online and indeed, many people do as I often hear calls from all over the country and sometimes the world.
It also repeats one hour (usually the 11am hour which is when I'm there) at 11pm eastern.
Also on at the same time will be Dr. Bill Reiner. I'm assuming you know who he is---if not, google is your friend. Bill serves on the medical advisory board of ISNA.
It's even a call in show (which I've never, ever done before).
I'm super excited about this one as it is one of my absolutely favorite radio shows and often have my morning tea listening to the insightful and thoughtful shows she does. I generally shy away from most live programming but this one I've been trying to get on for well awhile.

Bump...with a reminder that this is tomorrow. I'm excited and oddly, quite scared too because of the call-in factor.
Thankfully, the host doesn't take any BS from callers so that is reassuring.
The producer wrote today, "Fascinating stuff....completing the research for Marty now!" and I've noticed that they are around the past few days from our stats.

Hey Betsy, good luck with the show. I am sure that it will be great. I just got back from an intersex workshop with the UCOP. Among other things, we screened the "Size Matters" segment of the ITL show "American Gender" in which you are featured. It was a huge success with the audience. As it was the second time in twenty four hours that I had seen the show (it was shown on KQED the night before), I studied your presentation of intersex issues carefully. I continue to marvel at your speaking abilities and the clarity of your presentation.

The show was good...and is archived. http://www.whyy.org/91FM/radiotimes.html
Search by date, I guess or name.
I just listened to the replay and damn...that was a good radio show. The host had obviously done her homework.
If you listen and enjoy it, please consider sending them an email to let them know. Those thanks go a long way for quality programming like this.

The radio show is great. If searching the archives for the show, using the links that Betsy posted above, it can be found by searching on the date 6/30/2005, and it is cataloged as the "second hour" of the show. Marty Moss-Coane did an excellent job of hosting the show. Betsy did a great job presenting intersex issues. It was also interesting to hear Dr. Bill Reiner live.
