The unusual thing about this case is that a doctor actually examined the patient, instead of telling him to get lost as seems to be the usual practice in the United States.

I wonder how much of the condition's rarity is due to doctors who refuse
to investigate? It takes a lot to even rate a medical test, and then the MDs
have a tendancy of not wanting to have seen what they saw.
