Why is this Website SOOO Slow

I was surfing the bodies like ours website, it seems like it takes up to 1 minute for one page to come up. I was wondering if this was only happening to me or is this affecting everyone. Also other websites that i have been on work pretty fine. Just Wondering. Peace

Can you be more specific? Was it the main site? The forums? Is it the same on repeat visits?

When i type in the bodieslikeours.org web address it takes up too 3 minutes for the page to come up this also applys to entering different sections of the website. It takes a while for the pages to appear. I've surfed other websites sites and the pages come up quite fast except for this website.

It takes 20 seconds on my computer with a 64 kBit connection and no files in the cache.

Hmmm...I'm not sure why you would be encountering problems. Using dial-up, my experience has been about what Sofie gets :dunno: and others using dial-up (I'm assuming dial-up here, Zainey) have not complained and have indicated far different results than what you are seeing.

I would suggest clearing the cache on your own computer to see if that helps as sometimes an overly full one will cause problems. FWIW, the site also has a server based cache built in to speed up load times.

Even using an internet based optimization test, the site does quite well on dial-up speeds (it's slightly over what would be considered optimum) and on broadband, it loads quite quickly.

I'm wondering if something about the technology used (it's all database driven) is not agreeing with your machine. Just out of curiousity, check my personal site and see if it loads any differently. It's at betsydriver.com That site uses the same php/MySQL backbone as this one but it is quite a bit lighter image and text wise.
