I've no idea on your main questions (I'd suggest that you talk with your doctor), but on the difference between viagra and generic versions, I understand that the FDA (and other national drug approvals bodies) have approved only viagra. No generic versions will be approved until Pfizer's patent on the drug expires.

Any generic form of viagra on the market is not sold legally, not tested to the satisfaction of your national drug approvals agency and you can't be sure what's in it. It could just be snake oil, or it could even be harmful.

E.D. can have many different causes and therefore many different treatments; viagra being only one of them. Consultation with a physician would be the best thing for a person who has this condition; to determine the cause and thereafter the appropriate treatment.
