THE FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON SEX AND GENDER: INTERSEXIONS is to be held at The University of Western Australia, Perth, Western Australia from October 24th -27th, 2002. This is the first time the Congress has been held in the Southern Hemisphere.
Speakers include an array of National and International MTF, FTM, Trans, LGB and Intersex Activists!

Jamison Green, Dr Milton Diamond, Stephen Whittle, Tony Briffa and Dr Richard Ekins will give sessions. The programme includes concurrent seminars, workshops on gender identity, an optional Conference Dinner, participation in the Pride Parade with IFAS, a Playback Theatre performance and a riverside barbecue.

Please distribute widely. Note: early bird registration has been extended to September 30th (save $50)

2-3pm Malcolm Fiahlo: The Idea of Equity; Myfanwy McDonald (NSW): Gender dysphoria in Australian medicine; Prof Sam Cavero: Sex and gender in Latin-America. Reforming the constitution of Peru; Michelle Lee (WA): The erosion of the gender binary, Psychiatric 'diagnoses'; and the real life experience!

3-4pm Clare Cahill (Victoria ): Historical perspectives on gender; Jennifer Lee (Deakin): Intersex as Hero; Alvin Koh (NSW): Depicting the Gay Asian Male.

7-10pm PRIDE PARADE in Northbridge. Congress participants are welcome to march with IFAS and TransWest members.

* EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION HAS BEEN EXTENDED to September 30th. *

Anyone may register up to 9 am on Oct 24th, but registrations received after Sept 30th will incur an extra charge (except daily rates). To secure a place please forward a 25% deposit by bank cheque, personal cheque or money order and pay the remainder at the congress.
