Hiya...
Recently Bodies registered a couple of new domain names...
queerbodies.org / com /net
queerbodieslikeours.org /com/net
Right now they are pointing to this website.
However, my plan for them is to develop a new website that is a bit more edgy/progressive than Bodies.org. I would like to develop them with an eye towards IS and genderqueer teens/young people. Key to their mission will be growing new IS activists.
I believe that young people have great potential in making change happen.
If anyone would like to help me develop these projects, I would love some help. At this point, I have no preconceived notions for them other than their aim. They can be very freestyle and my only requirement is that they are youth and activist oriented. Of course there is no pay other than personal satisfaction. Since Bodies is a 501(c)(3) and if your employer pays for volunteer days, you could qualify for that. I'll be glad to take care of the documentation. Depending on your tax situation, you could possibly qualify for an in-kind donation---you would need to check with your accountant/tax advisor though. Volunteer work is often tax-deductible, but again, I'm not an accountant so you would need to check how it affects your own situation.
If you are in the business of site development or have a desire to build a site and would like to do some experimental stuff and get a resume line or two, this could be for you. Our only requirement is that it needs to be developed using Dreamweaver---our webhost and Frontpage don't mix well (and we use DW for Bodies). You will get to post your contact info on the site in exchange for your hard work so you can get even more work. If you don't have DW, that could be taken care of.
