View Full Version : bisexuality
Hej everybody!
I spoke with some persons in Latvian GLB community about bisexuality and one of ideas was that there are 2 ways of it. The first one- traditional. When one belongs to definite sex, but is sexually attracted to persons of both sexes. The second is related to IS and TG/TS persons. Doesn`t matter to which sex the person is attracted, but the person by itself can change gender identity so far that relationships with whatever man or women can be seen either homo either heterosexual.
What is your opinion about such definition?
Best wishes and marry x-mas to everybody!!!
OK, your first definition (When one belongs to definite sex, but is sexually attracted to persons of both sexes.) needs no clarification, but the second one is a little different.
Are you asking about the gendered person? Is the gendered person dating an IS person bi or not? I don't believe there is an easy answer for this.
First, there are many diferent 'conditions' that fall within the IS spectrum, many of which involve a person who is genetically of one gender. So, are they defined by their genetics or by how they feel inside?
Then there's those who are genetically ambiguous; those who are xxy or xx/xy. Is a gendered person dating someone who is xx/xy straight, gay, or bi? Or maybe the gendered person is a little of each depending on the time? Or does it depend on how the IS person defines him/her self? Again, I think there is no easy answer.
I guess the closest to an answer I can come to is that it all depends on how the individuals directly involved see it. If a couple, a female and an IS who defines herself as female call themselves a lesbian couple, then that is what they are. If a female & an IS who defines himself as male call themselves a straight couple, then that is what they are.
Sorry I can't come through with a clearer answer, but these are my thoughts as of now, written as clearly as I can word them.

Verrrry interesting...I'm IS and TS so here's what I have to say about it:
First of all, are you asking about gender or sexual orientation? or both...because the two concepts are different...it's the individual person's self-concept that constitutes gender identity and that may be male, female, or androgenous or fluctuating degrees of male/female, I think some IS and or TG are like that....and if you think about it so are some LGB. The individual's sexual orientation is determined (defined) by that person's sexual interaction or attraction to male, female, OR androgenous or fluctuating degrees of male/ female. If that is the case, then we are looking at a myriad of different gender/sexual mixes....AND if the individual is one who "see-saws" gender identity, then it adds another variable to sexual preferences....and then you add bisexual (and that entails various combos of two in one person interacting with various combos of one or two in the partner!) After all of the above considerations you would have a virtual universe of different examples of interactions....Therefore to determine what you ask is as Andi put "not an easy answer". This scenario can be likened somewhat to the Uncertainty Principle in Physics, wherein one cannot predict (define) with (absolute or otherwise)certainty the "position "(gender/sexual orientation) of one or more interacting (atomic) particles"(persons) at a given time. ALSO: As one member said: "Things are not the way they appear to be" because what one person sees, may then be interpreted differfently by another...that makes each interaction a very personal (one-to-one) thing and cannot be definitely categorized by others. And so the question you ask is very philosophical and there are many ways to "put it" not just two. It seems that we humans can be as complex and mysterious as the Universe itself. ....Anyway, that's my thoughts on the subject.

At first, great thanks for Your opinions!
As I see - there is not such an item as discrete sex, gender or sexula orientation at all. OK, we have names for the major conditions - for example straigh, gay, man or women. But, true, it is everything possible between them. On of the reasons, why I posted this question is the following- the majority of people have deinite social gender and can be put in one of the definite categories. As it is for me- it is difficult to take one distinct role and hold it all the time. So I see myself as a second type bisexual- both man and woman who is attracted to wemen, but almost every mornig chose who will be today :)
Thank You !
Best wishes!
I think that Andi and Dana Gold said it well. I think that sexual orentation is: you like male or female gentials for sexul pleasure or anything diffrent.
Gender is : what catogory you put youself in, or how you see yourself in the mirror: Male /female/ something diffrent. and if you except or reject the way other people classify you as male or female.
And of course you genetic sex, which may have nothing to do with how you see yourself or how others see you.
I think that all people one way or another are bisexual, some can come to terms with it, others can't. (homo phobia)
Still, even bisexuals if given the choice, do find that they might like better one partner even if they do like sex with both types of people.
I'm a intersexual but I'm bisexual, but it looks like i'm in a lesbian relationship, which could be a strieght relationship because I'm a genetic male but I look female with female parts but I climax like a male.. so what am i......?:p
Well had gum surgery today. it was not as bad as I thought. although the gum band aids feel like I have food stuck under my teeth. Soon I will have my teeth strieghted. Damm! I just want to bite down on something!!!
I look like special edd
