You know you got a creepy Edocrinologist when
He refers to the clitorectomy and vaginoplasty as......
"that sensitive STUFF."
When you tell him why did they have to do those sugeries ? no one cared what my adult life was going to be like.... He responds," Eeehh (shrug) ...whats ya going to do ? It was the 70's."
_________
OMG!...I don't know whether to gasp, sigh, or scream at that. How insensitive can one be??????

Dear Betsy:
I would of liked to have said,"Sigh" but I was in the state of shock instead. I tend to slip into shock when the Endo are like that. Then it usually comes out into anger.
I got more....
You know you got a creepy Endo when ....
You tell him surgeons performed a clitorectomy on you and he corrects you by saying," Oh...no, no you mean a clitoral reduction or recession."
I know what these people did to me and I was perpared to drop my pants and show him but instead I brought medical records with me that proved that indeed it was a clitorectomy and not anything else.
You know you got a creepy Endo when....
Right after you tell him about the clitorectomy and the first vaginoplasty, he interupts you and says," Not to Minimize what you have been telling me but do you smoke? I smell a faint trace of smoke and that will give me a headache all day long,(whine) My nose is very, very sensitive. You become so flustered that you can't continue to tell him about the third vaginal construction. And just shut down emotionally all together. It's hard enough to tell anyone about this and when you do that's the response you get. Was it wrong of me to expect a little more decorum form a doctor?
I happen not to smoke but I do spend time down at an exculsive club at the ocean and my gosh there is a bar there where they smoke. My leather purse does pick up the smell of smoke. Also, one of my room- mates smoke. But still, to tell someone about those surgeries and have them interupt you like that was just rotten.
I worked for three years as a social worker and went into the rough neighborhoods to visit people in the projects. I never said a word about any excessive smells because I was concerned with how that person felt as a human being. One of my most favorite clients was man whose apartment smelled slightly of cats. I quickly got over that smelled because I cared more about him and his feelings then I did about the slight cat odor.
I realize that this Endo can do and say whatever he wants in his office but I just wish that he would tell the insurance agencies about his adversion to smoke. That way people like me would not waste their time and money going to see him.
