Talked with "Fr. Mike" this week.

Talked to the pastor of my local parish this week. I had recently "outed" myself to him and he has been more than supportive.

In the meantime, I directed him to BLO and the Medhelp AIS website. From there he also visited ISNA as well. He was very grateful for the references and said it has opened up a "whole new world" to him that he was was not aware of.

He is very well respected and greatly loved by all who know him here, both students and faculty. For those of us in the Church, I don't think that we could ask for a better ally.

I've been "out" before the current priest came on board, and, though we thought he would be supportive, his private seances with me have been of the nature of telling me to go back into the "closet". Which closet? I'm not even sure he knows. He keeps mumbling stuff about "homophobia", which leaves me puzzled, because he seems to be more interested in the state of my genitals and not my sexual orientation.

I'm glad for you because it is one more step out of "the silence that kills." Hang in there!
