I have thought about this and thought about this...and I think that I have a theory..

The most societal power that a person can get or achieve is not done shouting and with the most extreme demands.

Society gives it's leaders, or power to people who talk.

Talk.

Not yell but talk.


The talkers are forever remembered.

In the long run, you're right. But in the short term, people who scream and throw fits often get the attention and control. Hitler came to power, in part, because he tapped into people's rage over how they had been treated after WWI. Modern day tyrants also take advantage of rage to get people to follow them.

To each circumstance in life, there is a different way of communicating a "concern" or subject matter. A soft voice in a dire situation may not be heard; and a rough voice in a mild situation may be either ignored or receive negative attention. It is prudent to somehow assess the kind of audience one speaks to. An angry voice need not be "out of control"; and a soft voice can make an indelible impression upon people.
Too much we look at things "black and white" (sorry!!, no pun intended!) when a blend of both is most effective. And then, too, we can make very good sense by speaking strongly and be confusing while mild-mannered. Content, body language, expression, continuity of speech: all these are also vital to convey what is needed to be heard. Intersex awareness Day is coming about and each of us (for those that will actively participate publicly) may want to think about our very own style of communication; one that is natural and not forced. This is also applicable for when we speak with loved ones or acquaintences. We all wish to be understood. And one need not have eloquent speech capabilities to do so; just honesty and "talking from the heart". To gain power is to subjugate and create a schism; to "cross a bridge" into others' hearts and minds is true dialogue for peace and understanding.

Anyway, my thoughts.
