Dear All,

I have just joined this group so I don't have any friends. I'm a 22yr old intersex girl with both male and female sex organs. I was raised as a boy but didn't like it as I was more girl then boy. Well girl at that time till i started puberty at 12. Then things went weird I was changing my voice and facial hair male side. And period and mood swings etc female side. I was very confused and really upset. I told my parents when i was 15 that I was their daughter and they didn't beleive me. I ended up at the dr's and he told me that it was a phase (which i knew from age of 4 that it wasn't) . That messed me up for yrs and went into denial as my dr told me to to basically get a life and live like a man. I started living as a female finally at 18 changed my name legally 2 half yrs ago and my parents support me 100% now they know they have alway's had a girl. Last year I had a ultrasound scan as I knew something was wrong that I was intersex but my new dr now thought I was transsexual. Until the results came through I have a right overy and uterus plus external testes and penis. I need more tests done to see if they find anymore organs. I also had a chromosome blood test last week and currently waiting for the results. I have a wonderful boyfriend and have been on HRT 7 months now. I just want a normal life after my corrective surgery which i'm waiting for. But I need to see the intersex clinic in london first to sort out options. I hope to meet new friends alike as it'll be so much easier to chat.

Hope to meet you on yahoo or msn

luv and hugs

Jamie-Renee - so glad to have you here.

What you've described is what SHOULD have happened with me. (Here I'm assuming that you haven't had to endure any surgery until the time you wanted it - I hope for you that is the case.) I'm so glad that you found out about you're situation as early as you had. I know the feelings you have had are not something you can ignore, and that it is good to be have been able to find your place.

If you look through some old threads, you'll see my initial post, and what DID happen to me. Similar, but different in many ways.

Just the same, I'm glad you found this wonderful site. I look forward to hearing from you again.

Thank you Wyn and Betsy for the lovely welcome to this wonderful warm group. I have read your first post Wyn and I'm very sorry for what you went through. They should give the options to the child not dr's. People are coming to terms with intersex people now as more documentries and available. I have to undergo laser for facial hair now as I wasn't given hrt at 16 so i'm very upset and feel like a freak. I do get called madam, miss, love on the phone and in person so i'm happy about that. I will tell you about my test results when I find out. Once again i'm really sorry about your past and you deserve so much in life I wish you all the very best sister. Take care chat to you soon.

Bye all

Welcome to BLO, Jayme. Please consider yourself lucky in that you have reclaimed your life in your earlier years, instead of way into later years. Good luck with everything and take care.

Hi JR

I'm new here too, and you can find my intro on page 5 or 6 of the intersexed condition thread.. Probably should post it here as well.

Same problems, but to a lesser degree physically. Glad you were able to get a handle on things early. Have fought my entire life trying to be what was "expected", rather than what was.

Hello JM and welcome to Bodies Like Ours. Thanks for your lovely reply and I have read your posts and I'm so sorry to hear that your family kept a secret from you. Yes you should of had that choice to accept that injection or not but parents had the power. I hope you manage to be the woman you really are. Take care hon

Thank you Jayme

Jayme, the woman I am inside - physically and emotionally, must conform to the physical exterior of "male". Too late in life for me to do anything else.

My problems really started at puberty. I knew how to be a girl, but was woefully unprepared for being a teen aged boy. In a sad sort of way it was funny when school started the fall after my injections began. No one recognized me. I didn't recognize me.

Dear JM,

It's never too late in life to amend your past. I'm just sorry that you were confused after these injections as I would be too changing that way. You said that you don't feel either male or female. Well that'll be cos of the medication for yrs ago *hugs* . I've always felt female but had to pretend to be a boy which was so difficult. I'm so glad now I'm myself and I wish everyone else whose in same situation can be happy to. I don't know when i'll be having corrective surgery but I'm seeing a intersex specialist soon. She will help me with my future plans and that's what you need to do hon. Plan for the future and be what you are. Being both sexes is fine just ignore arrogant people they just don't understand. We are all special people just different. Hope to hear from you soon take care.
