Hi There,

I knew about this site but Beach told me about the forums and recommended this as a way to become socially active in the intersex community.

I'm a practical femme lesbian intersexed woman, though I originally thought I was a born male and a transsexual until I went with a friend to Sue Ellen's in Dallas. The weather was warm, so I dressed comfortably, a T-shirt, shorts, and sandles. I did not bother with any makeup. Well, I was clocked as a biologic woman and one gal told my friend that I have no chance to ever pass as a dude. She actually thought I was a failing transman and she gave my friend a list a mile long of reasons why I better quit taking testosterone and go back to living the woman that I was born to be. My friend said that I just did not dress femme enough that day.

More recently, the same friend helped me realize that I'm intersexed. She thought that I knew and was just using the story of being a transsexual as a cover. Well, I have been able to confirm various aspects of my young childhood to realize that I did receive surgery and was made to look male. My friend suspects that I'm 47-XXY and my doctor agrees that I need to have the chromosomal analysis done. I just have to find a way to save for that. I'll be visiting my father next week and I'm planning on getting a chance to talk with him in detail about what transpired.

Transition wise, I was diagnosed with GID have been granted a legal change of name and gender. Yup, my Texas drivers license actually says that I flunked sex. ;-) I have been living full time presenting as a female and have been on female HRT since 2001. I still need to have SRS, but my goal is to have that before the end of the year.

I have been married for 17 going on 18 years, but we are now separated, and we will be getting a divorce. My wife is having a lot of difficulty with my transition and she is more interested in the neighbors opinions and fears of being labeled a lesbian instead of taking the time to understand what was done to me or what I need to put my life where it should to be.

I have gotten socially active in the lesbian community, I want to do the same in the intersex community, and I'm hoping to find friends here in Texas. I live out side the tiny town of Loving, located where Rt 16 and Rt 114 cross, about 100 miles West of Fort Worth and about 50 miles South of Wichita Falls. I live alone on my 67 acre ranch where in have a large house and 7 Horses and 8 Parrots. I do enjoy country life but I try to get into the DFW metroplex often.

My career spans 28 years in electronics and computer engineering and at present I'm working for a cousin's startup company doing product design and development. I'm fortunate right now to be able to do all this work from my home.

So, if anyone has any questions or feels that I left anything out, please ask. If it turns or to be too personal, well, Hmmm, I'll just have to answer anyway. ;-) It's my opinion that the only dumb questions are the ones which are never asked.

Byeeee for now and for those interested, here's my photo taken when I was out with friends this past March:

Thank You Dana, I'm happy to be here.

It's cool to she that you're another techi. How heavy do you get in your science interests ? Quantum Physics and String theory make great hobbies.

hehehehehe

What can I say, I'm wierd, how many gals who read Elle and Glamour can quote electronic engineering data from memory ?

I also love the quote the you have from Golda Meir.

Thanks for the welcome.

Texas huh, Well I’ve been all over Texas. First I have family in

Huffman TX. I spent a week there and almost moved to TX.

Then I took a vacation and traveled cross the state. I went to

Houston, San Antonio, Galveston, Corpus Christi (not in that

order) logged 1200 miles in that great state. I can’t tell you how

great it felt to travel all those miles. While I don’t have all that

land that you do, I do have parrot. I have an Indian ring neck

parrot. I’m sure that your path to discovery about yourself will be

well rewarded. Thanks for sharing about yourself. I hope that you

find the posters here helpful, and thoughtful. I myself do welcome

you.

Welcome to "Bodies..". I found your introduction and photo really interesting, and would like to hear more. You mentioned that you were planning to talk with your father about your intersex past. You said that it was ok to ask you "dumb" questions, so,...
How did your talk with your father go, if you have had it?
