Hi all. I just want to reintroduce myself to the group, as I've been away for a while. I am Sarah, a 39 year-old Intersexed female. I discovered my micropenis almost 2 years ago. I won't go into details on my journey of self-discovery - it would take too long. A test this past Fall showed that I am 46XX. I'm not completely convinced of this though. Since it was only a blood test taken from one part of my body, I could be 45XY/46XX & not know it. I believe now that I have a mild to moderate form of CAH, although I've figured this out through Internet research, not through my wet-behind-the-ears gynecologist.
I consider my sexual orientation to be same-sex attraction/homosexual, not lesbian but celibate. My biological sex is definitely Intersex. As for gender identity, I consider myself bi-gendered because I think almost equally in male & female ways. As for my social/cultural role, I'm High Femme but I also see myself as a Lipstick Butch.
I was in pretty bad shape physically at the end of 2003, so I spent the Winter in Florida with my parents taking care of my health through exercise, diet & establishing myself on a new regimen of supplements, which I now need in order to 1) keep my periods going, 2) prevent the osteopenia I have from getting worse & 3) prevent the chronic urinary tract infections I have from getting worse. Now that I have a really good routine going, I'm working on what to do about work & school. Because I'm partially disabled & haven't worked for 6 years, I doubt anyone would hire me, so I need to do something(s) freelance - such as writing, intersex activism, singing etc. And I'd like to go back to college on weekends.
Anyway, I'll be offline for a while as I get my computer fixed & find a new ISP. So I won't be back here as GoldenVoicedGal; I'll have another User Name. I was thinking of Mirabel, just because it sounds nice. I'll be here for the next couple of days & then it's Sayonara.
I'm glad to see so many new people on the message boards! When I come back, I'll look forward to getting acquainted with the old & new people. Hello to Jim, Jules, Glenn, Betsy & anyone else I may have forgotten!
