Geez it's been quiet here---including quiet from myself. I've been focused on exploring revamping somewhat the main BLO website and am currently testing out a content management system on a personal website. It's not that there is anything inherently wrong with the main site, it's just that it's really static and at times, kind of a pain to keep up to date. Plus, as the world of different browsers grows very quickly it's more and more difficult to deal with cross-compatibility and have it look and function good at the same time.
It will also be easier for others to update remotely instead of me doing it all the time.
While it's not even close to seeing light here yet, I'm pleased it thus far on the other site, even though I haven't started to add content yet. Once I start doing that and can evaluate the ease and user friendliness, will make a decision. I've also put together another website in the past day for the intersex symposium we are sponsoring with the CWLJ. As we confirm who will be there next month, it will be a place to find information. That site is at intersexsymposium.org (http://intersexsymposium.org)
Let me know what you think about the proposed CMS. As I mentioned, there isn't much in the way of content there as of yet but you should be able to get a good idea of the functionality. One of the neat things is there is a module available to provide a shoutout box on the main page for latest posts in these forums. I haven't installed it there because I haven't yet figured out how to call the database where this forum resides from that site. I may get to that next week or sooner if the geek side of my brain gets hungry for coding.
