As the old saying goes, "the truth comes out in the wash". The story of your mom's revelation is pretty remarkable. I don't think that you are a punishment from g-d. I am glad that you and your doctor have been able to have an open discussion, and that your doctor is open to helping you find out more about your body and your past.
