In Canada we have many specialists who accept ANY insurance.
We have a government that pays for our basic needs (which never includes a private hospital room or cosmetic/elective surgery or treatment)
Then there are other types of coverage such as private plans that pay for things like that and more. I have a government plan from my disability. They pay everything for me.
What happens here with endos and other specialists is that a doctor needs to access the need you present for treatment outside of a GP.
So when your GP can't treat your condition they send you to the first specialist they can find OR you can suggest one you prefer and see if they have an opening.
It's like a prescription. The GP "prescribes" that you be cared for by a specialist
The only endo in my old town up north ONLY sees people with diabetes. How cruel!
Now that I am in Hamilton I have a few to chose from.
So curiously, which one of them would be able to figure out if I have CAH? Hmmm. Calling them tomorrow, busy day today!
