Great News!!!

To be certain.

My hearty congratulations to both of you on this turn of events. Yes, sometimes Mother Nature (actually ALL the time, IMO) is quite Amazing.

I say this from experiance. While I'm not XXy... I was born a feminine true hermaphrodite... more female than male. In fact, both gonads remained in the abdomen at birth. However, much like your husband, I too was surgically altered to look more 'male'... and, more to the point, both my underdeveloped testis (which is even now, at the age of 52, is 1/4 the size of normal), and my ovary was 'lowered' into my partially developed scrotum at 6 months. They also removed my uterus, and sewed my vagina shut.... this was done in 1955.

But, they also subjected me to about 2 years of testosterone ("T") 'poisioning', which shut down my ovary, and caused my testis to produce Massive amounts of T. In fact, it was producing about 50% More T than a normal male! However, I have AIS, and never responded very well to it. Just the same, and, more to the point, it also caused my one testis to produce sperm... however, it only produced 'y' sperm... the X sperm were immotile (unable to swim) due to the testis' histology being mutated by this hormonal manipulation.

The result is that I am the father of 4 boys - now 21, 19, 17 & 15. However, with every pregnancy, my wife's hormones began to affect me more and more, ultimately causing me (by the time of the 2nd child's birth) to lose all of my 'male' libido - although, in truth, it was Never strong at all. (point of fact - it was my wife who 'picked me up' in the First place ... I just sorta went along for the ride - I was just happy that Someone wanted to 'be with me').

We ended up divorcing in '93 expressly due to my inabilities to 'perform'. I haven't had any relationships since then, due to this inability, although I did 'try' to date a woman last year (my first in 13 years! - Big Mistake)

As much as I tried, she couldn't accept me due to the changes that have occured in the last 5 years... I had gained enough weight (and fat) during 2001/2002 to cause my ovary to come out of it's state of dormancy, and I've gone through female puberty.. at the age of 47!!! At present, my hormone levels are those of a young woman, and, even more surprisingly, it appears/feels that my ovary has begun ovulating. (About Time!!!) But, I will never be able to bear a child.

So... Yes, I can agree, Life is an Amazing expression of the Infinite Wonder of this Universe.

I am SO happy for both of you!
I wish you Much Peace and Prosperity
